Seeking substantial someone
Gender:  Male
Looking For:  Female
Age:  24
Location:  Nicholasville, Kentucky, US
My height is:  5 feet 11 inches
180 cm
Description:
I think too much - and I think that the belief that one can "think too much" is a mark of ignorance and mental apathy. Most of what I mull over is stuff most people don't normally even consider - the real reason for organized religions, the JFK cover-up, aliens, qigong - things like that. I'm not a conspiracy kook, but I know some things just aren't right and most things aren't what they seem.
Now that I've cast myself as awkward, let's pull back a bit and be superficial. Dark greens and purples are my favorite colors. I primarily eat chicken, though I won't say no to most things. I have an affinity for Stephen King novels (The Dark Tower was the best read of my life). I play video games, mostly Rock Band, rpgs and WoW - though I don't know how much longer the latter will go on. I'm a life-long Nintendo fan, and wanted to be Link when I was a kid (still do, a little...) I have a collection of Magic: the Gathering cards, which are gathering dust and only see occasional use.
I'm technically a published poet, though one single entry in an aggregated book that I had to pay to get my own copy is hardly the same as having a Pulitzer. I haven't really written anything in a few years.
I have an electric guitar and an acoustic which I barely play (both in terms of skill and frequency), and a violin which I haven't really played since 7th grade, though I was pretty decent then. I like singing in the car and such, though I'm hardly Steve Perry (although according to Rock Band, I do Don't Stop Believin' as good as he would >.>).
I work full-time, first shift, and my employer is actually growing amid the economic downturn. I guess that's good.
I share a house with a relative (not a parent), and pretty much divide my time evenly between working and wasting.
I have a dog who's over a decade old and still going strong.
Match Description:
I'm looking for someone to mentally challenge me. Someone who's open-minded, and thinks about things more deep than celebrities (I loved Michael Jackson, but GOD am I sick of hearing about him) - and can input an intelligent viewpoint into a conversation. Please, when you're typing, texting or writing, spell your words correctly and use punctuation. Don't use internet slang in verbal speech.
I've got a wide sense of humor, mostly favoring sarcasm and wordplay. Be capable of handling bad puns and jibes, and ideally, reciprocate.
You don't have to be arrogant, in fact, please don't be - but don't be a self-loather either. Be comfortable with yourself and at least somewhat self-reliant (note: this is a little wrong for me to seek, because I don't like myself very much sometimes. I mostly just can't stand whining and people expecting to be handed everything).
Glasses and long, not-ridiculously colored hair are major plusses.
